SWIF Increases Pennsylvania Workers’ Comp Rates

The State Workers’ Insurance Fund (SWIF) filed a workers’ compensation rate update in Pennsylvania, effective April 1, 2026, for both new and renewal business.

The filing revises the Commercial Loss Cost Multiplier to 4.302, a 4.6% increase from the current level of 4.111. After accounting for a 1.22% decrease in bureau loss costs proposed by the Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau, the combined impact results in an overall rate increase of 3.3%.

The current multiplier has been in place since April 1, 2024.
