PEMCO Retires Lowest Rental Reimbursement Limit in Oregon

PEMCO is retiring its $30-per-day, $900-total rental reimbursement option for Oregon auto insurance customers. Policyholders with that coverage will be notified and moved to the next available limit—$50 per day and $1,500 total—at renewal.

The change is part of a filing effective October 19, 2026 for new business and October 29, 2026 for renewals. PEMCO is also reducing its rental coverage base rate by 5%, though the higher coverage limits produce an overall 19.5% increase in rental reimbursement premium.

The filing revises base rates, advance quote discounts and bodily injury coverage limit factors. Those changes are collectively rate neutral; the rental coverage adjustment drives the filing’s overall 0.181% increase.

The revision affects 6,165 policyholders and approximately $17.5 million in written premium, adding an estimated $31,671 in premium. Individual policy impacts range from a 28.4% decrease to a 15.1% increase.

PEMCO’s Oregon auto manual also identifies Cambridge Mobile Telematics as the provider of the DriveWell scoring algorithm used in its voluntary My Driving Discount program. Drivers receive an initial 10% participation discount, replaced after a qualifying 91-day monitoring period by a driving-score-based discount of up to 20%.

Oregon completed its review and marked the filing as filed on September 18, 2026.
