Minnesota Life Adds Value-Added Services Rider To Group Life In Oregon

Minnesota Life, part of Securian Financial, received approval in Oregon for a Value Added Services Rider attached to existing group term life policies. Approved on October 20, 2025, for employer and labor-union groups, the rider is issued at the policyholder’s option and does not alter base insurance benefits.

The rider offers a range of third-party services available to insureds and beneficiaries at no additional cost, funded by the carrier. These include Empathy for grief and logistics support; TELUS Health for legal, financial, and emotional well-being consultations; an Employee Assistance Program through TELUS Health; Advisor Connection via Securian Financial and Cetera for financial education; Enrich Financial Wellness for budgeting and investing tools; Securian’s Legacy Planning for end-of-life and survivor support resources; and Redpoint Travel Assistance for emergency and transport services while traveling.

Value-added bundles such as Empathy, EAP, travel, and financial wellness programs are becoming standard in group life insurance as carriers shift focus toward employer experience and beneficiary support. With this filing, Minnesota Life consolidates multiple vendors into a single rider, allowing employers to offer an integrated post-claim and wellness toolkit without modifying the underlying life policy.
