Latham & Watkins has added insurance-focused dealmaker Frank Monaco as a partner in its New York office, strengthening the firm’s M&A and private equity bench in a market where regulatory complexity is increasingly central to transactions.
Frank Monaco advises insurers and reinsurers on complex transactions, with a practice centered on reinsurance deals, including large block transfers, reserve financings, and pension risk transfer work. His experience spans regulatory matters tied to acquisitions, restructurings, and new insurance formations, as well as advising private equity, private credit, and asset managers backing reinsurance vehicles.
Monaco joins from Clifford Chance and is the third partner Latham has announced for its New York M&A and private equity group this month, following hires in sports-focused dealmaking. The move reflects continued investment by large firms in insurance and reinsurance expertise as capital markets, private equity, and insurance structures converge.
Monaco earned his law degree from Fordham University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Trinity College.
