Homeowners Choice filed to maintain current rates for its assumed dwelling program in Florida.
The program had 19,090 policies in force and approximately $77.5 million in annual earned premium. The filing shows an average incurred loss ratio of 30.2%, compared with an expected loss ratio of 27.5%.
Homeowners Choice’s actuarial analysis produced a statewide indicated rate increase of 0.1% for DP-3 policies, but the insurer selected no change. The company also certified that its existing rates are actuarially sound and are not excessive, inadequate or unfairly discriminatory.
