Glencar Insurance, part of Hannover Re Group, has filed an initial form, rate, and rule submission in Virginia to launch a new Inland Marine program focused on special event cancellation insurance. The filing, submitted on November 13, 2024, becomes effective for new business on December 15, 2024, and reflects a brand new program with zero policyholders and no premium on the books at launch.

The program is being rolled out through a partnership with BriteCo and is designed to support special events, with data for policy forms generated directly from policyholder inputs or insurance producer contact information. For rate benchmarking, the filing references Markel, Nationwide, Travelers, Evanston Insurance Company, and Houston Casualty Company.

Distribution is handled via BriteCo, with pricing incentives that include multi-policy discounts when bundled with event liability coverage, as well as affinity partner discounts.
