Esurance Updates Washington Auto Policy

Esurance Insurance Company submitted a form filing in Washington on October 7, 2025, to amend provisions in its Personal Private Passenger Auto policy, effective January 1, 2026, for both new and renewal business. The update aligns with Senate Bill 5721 (ESB 5721), which governs timelines and procedures for the vehicle damage appraisal process.

Under the revised policy, appraisers must complete their appraisals within 30 calendar days of selection, with any extensions requiring a reasonable basis communicated before 25 days have elapsed. The filing also replaces the definition of a “Non-owned auto.”

The filing was approved and categorized as an Amendment of Policy Provision. No vendors, technology use cases, or premium data were referenced.
